Job Summary
The Team Leader (Onboarding & Training) will be responsible for leading the end-to-end onboarding process for field engineers across all talent types globally. This role ensures that all new hires meet Iron Systems’ compliance standards, including successful background verification (BGV), completion of required documentation, and mandatory training completion. The position requires strong leadership, process governance, and cross-functional coordination to maintain a compliant and audit-ready workforce.

Key Responsibilities
1. Global Onboarding Management
  • Lead and oversee onboarding operations for field engineers across multiple geographies and employment types (contractors, vendors, and direct hires).
  • Ensure a seamless onboarding experience while maintaining strict adherence to company policies and regional legal requirements.
  • Monitor onboarding timelines and ensure timely activation of resources.
2. Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure all field engineers are compliant, defined as:
    • Successfully cleared Background Verification (BGV).
    • Completion of all required documentation (employment, legal, and client-specific).
    • Completion of mandatory compliance trainings (Code of Conduct, IT Security, Data Privacy, etc.).
  • Track, audit, and report compliance status across global teams.
  • Identify compliance gaps and drive corrective actions proactively.
3. Background Verification (BGV) Oversight
  • Manage and track BGV processes in coordination with internal teams.
  • Ensure adherence to country-specific verification norms and legal frameworks.
  • Escalate and resolve discrepancies or red flags in BGV outcomes.
4. Training & Certification Compliance
  • Ensure timely assignment and completion of mandatory onboarding trainings.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development teams to maintain updated training modules.
  • Track training completion metrics and enforce compliance.
5. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team responsible for onboarding and compliance operations.
  • Collaborate with HR, Legal, IT, Delivery, and Vendor Management teams globally.
  • Act as a point of escalation for onboarding and compliance-related issues.
6. Process Improvement & Reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement in onboarding workflows, systems, and compliance tracking.
  • Leverage HRIS tools to maintain accurate records and dashboards.
  • Generate periodic reports on onboarding status, compliance metrics, and audit readiness.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • The No. of Field Engineers onboarded within SLA.
  • The No. of workforce achieving “Compliant” status.
  • BGV completion turnaround time.
  • Training completion rates.
  • Audit readiness and compliance accuracy.
  • Reduction in onboarding delays and compliance gaps

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 4–7 years of experience in HR Operations, HRIS, or Global Onboarding, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of Background Verification processes and global compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing onboarding for a distributed/global workforce.
  • Proficiency in HRIS tools and reporting dashboards.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
 
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in IT services or field services organizations.
  • Knowledge of global labor laws and compliance frameworks.
  • Exposure to LMS platforms and compliance training tracking.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors for BGV and onboarding services.
